Lazare Kamdem
Senior Advisor
Lazare Kamdem is a WASH and public health specialist with over 25 years of professional experience in water supply systems, epidemiology, emergency response, and environmental health across the Democratic Republic of Congo and West Africa.
With academic training in nursing sciences and specialization in epidemiology and potable water management, his career reflects a diverse multidisciplinary pathway combining humanitarian field operations, United Nations peacekeeping missions, international NGO programming, and technical supervision of water infrastructure projects. He has contributed to emergency assistance with the ICRC, WASH system management with MONUC, health and sanitation control with UNOCI in Côte d’Ivoire, and supervision of borehole drilling and spring protection initiatives with multiple humanitarian partners.
As Senior Advisor to the Board of Directors at Humanitarian Action for Africa (HAA), Lazare provides high-level technical guidance, strategic supervision of WASH programming, and institutional oversight to ensure quality, safety, and sustainability of water and sanitation interventions. His expertise in rural and urban hydraulics, water quality control, emergency preparedness, and infrastructure supervision strengthens HAA’s capacity to deliver resilient, community-centered public health solutions.
Fluent in French, English, Lingala, and Swahili, he supports HAA’s governance and technical excellence through experienced leadership, operational insight, and a strong commitment to accountable, locally led humanitarian action.
